I can attest that 75m ssb has been very, very strange that last month
or so.. Signals from up down the west coast has been very odd.
Participants on 3840 kHz have mentioned that it's the strangest
conditions they've experienced since they started ham radio in the
1950s/1960s... Signals change in strength from 30 dB over s9 all the
way down to s1/s2 within half a minute and then jumps back up again
for a bit. It had many of us checking our antennas and radios thinking
something was wrong with our gear until the topic was finally
discussed openly as a major discussion topic.

so, how is propagation this year?
any unusual catches?
it is my understanding that we may be in the solar min.
i started dx'ing in '99, which put me in for the whole last solar max,
so i'm kind of curious as to how good the odd little catches might be
(dare i pray for alice springs or antarctica?)

Try 17675 now and then for New Zealand. k35454.
