(snip logs) The above is what I was able to find whilst waiting for my lunch call. The band were very noisy and we just has a rain storm pass thru the area. Have a Good Thanksgiving Holiday in the USA!!! The bands have been strangely quiet this evening (11-21). I went to listen to Australia at 0200 and it wasn't there-on any freq. I tried South Korea and their 19m freq was dead and their 31m freq was an unintelligible mumble. Taiwan's 31m freq was the same, and 49m was dead. WWV on 10 and 15 Mhz were dead too. I too have noticed rather poor conditions the past couple days, very high noise level and conditons as you (tommynokr) mention. Stewart's comment about the band(s) bieng noisy is so true, also located in Southern California the noise has been around S9 here. Oh well, if I wanted clear audio I'd use live streaming 8-} |

Happily I have spent a good part of the day listening to short wave. At 19:00 UTC I listened to Radio Netherlands on 17875. They were also good on 17725 and slightly weaker on 15315. Then Radio Japan 21:00 to 22:00 UTC on 17825. They were also on 21670 although weak for me. Then it was on to Radio Australia on 21740 at 22:000 UTC until 0:00 UTC where the switch was made to 17795 and then 17715. 17795 and 17715 went off at 2:00 UTC so made you just missed them. At 2:00 UTC they switched to 15515 and 15240 among other frequencies. I listened to them on 15515 where they were pretty weak and that was the best frequency I could find them on at that time. After Australia got to noisy for me to listen to on 19 meters I went to the BBC on 9525 which is what I'm listening to as I type. -- Telamon Ventura, California |
