A 4" speaker in a closed back plastic box sounds very pleasant. Avoid 2-way speakers has they just make the noise louder. I think it depends. I have a pair of Radio Shack Minimus-7's that I picked up here and there at a garage sales, and I'd use them over a lot of the speakers that come with cheaper all in one stereos. They are my "computer speakers" and I use them with an amplifier from a small bookshelf system that I paid five dollars for. But I left the speakers there, since they most definitely were not better than the Minimus-7s. I've heard from some the the new inexpensive computer speakers are a good alternate to an expensive ICOM or Yeasu communication receiver speaker. Any opinions? Charlie |
