Most things pertaining to reality probably do scare the heck out of you, 'tard
boy.

Not surprising at all.

Anyone who would pay $900.00+ for an AM radio
desperately needs to have their head examined ASAP.

Another fine example of the boundless insanity
of the resident audiophoole contingent.

I'm sure rarity and condition factored heavily into the bidding.

A few days ago a Hallicrafters SX-88 closed for $8,000.

Oh come on now, it's not just the "resident audiophoole contingent", did
you ever see what some of those old Zenith AM radios from the 1930's go
for, and they aren't even very sophisticated designs?

They are pretty darn rare... I seem to recall one a few years ago that might have fetched $10,000 or
more?

That might have been the one WB6ACU purchased.

Not only that, if you look at the winner's other ebay purchases, he
certainly appears to be solidly in the radio collector category.

So you're saying I shoulda bought the one at the tag sale for $5 last week eh? ;)

I think I saw an SX-88 go in the $12-13k range a couple years back.

Personally, I'd rather have my 550 and a wad of cash.
