It is an antenna formerly used by the Swedish military (I used one when I made my military duty.) As these are no longer used by the military, a lot of them have reached the surplus market here in Sweden, and now apparently also the US. It is good as a portable VHF/UHF discone antenna, as this is what it was built to be. You could of course use it as a glasfiber mast to support other antennas if you like. A few years ago I bought one of those Tiny Tuner antennas.(I still have
it too) It is nothing but a little piece of circuit board with a few electronic parts on it and a long wire with a little alligator clip on one end of the wire.I think I paid about $9.95 for it plus shipping and handling charges.It takes a nine volt battery.Either that gadget was defective when I got it or those Tiny Tuners just do not work at all. cuhulin |
