My buddy, R.G. Stair, was live on my shortwave this morning. He made
mention of his court case. He said, for all intents and purposes, it's
over with. Darren

So he's pleading guilty, eh? Great...save us some tax dollars.

Honus, You disappoint me. I thought YOU'D say, "So when do they pass
around the Jonestown kool aid!" ;-)

To tell you the truth, I'm not sure how to take that.

Well, I doubt he's pleading guilty - unless it's to a MUCH lesser
charge. (That could be the case as the courts seem to like to make all
cases real cut and dry -- and easy on themselves!)

I also doubt he's going to willingly give up his control over the group.
HE may be a bit delusional on the matter or his attorney has assured
him that "it's in the bag" as far as a payoff is concerned.

You don't think Darren was attempting to pull the group's leg do you?
That's the first thing I thought of. I started to reply a good bit
earlier and decided to wait and see who took his bait.

It seems to be way to quick and easy. It takes DAYS - sometimes WEEKS -
just to seat a jury in most high profile cases. Unless all the
plaintiffs have been bought or frightened off this case has not gotten
started good.

Maybe God told him He's going to take him home so he won't have to meet
Bubba! ;-)

From the sound of things this morning, it appears as though he copped a
plea. He said he pleaded guilty to a single charge, and that the rest
were dismissed. Darren

THAT part I CAN believe. I heard somewhere, probably SW, that the feds
pay the court system so much for EVERY case they CLOSE. For this
reason, in addition to monetary reasons, they love to plea bargain. A
person can be charged with three murders and if there's the slightest
doubt in their minds they'll let him plea it down to one involuntary
manslaughter! There NO JUSTICE in that kind of bargaining! (Check out
Isaiah chapter 1. It tells of some rottenness but in verse 26 the
judges are to be restored as at the first, thus indicating a period when
the judges were NOT judges. Of course that is very well demonstrated a
few verses prior.)

Besides that, someone probably got to the young women and "explained" to
them how they were going to look like whores AND complete idiots when
they got through cross examining them in front of the "whole world"!
Either that or Bro. Stair decided to show his generosity by giving them
some money. Others probably told them how they were not to go to court
against a brother, before infidels, and/or how they were really going to
hurt God's work by bringing this man down to shame and possibly to his
grave.

I listened to him a short time off and on today to see if I could
confirm what you said. Much of what I heard was REALLY OLD tapes he
made back in the '80's probably.

I look forward to seeing what the "official" version of the case is.
Also, seeing what The Net Team and Remnant's Hope have to post on it -
if they do. This will have turned out so differently from what they
apparently had wanted that they may just ignore it or provide a lot of
reasons why it never should have been decided this way. Personally, as
the old saying goes, "I don't have a dog in this fight!"

Oh, I was just being a smart-ass with that guilty remark. I wouldn't really
expect it either.

I also doubt he's going to willingly give up his control over the group.

Hell, no. It's good to be king. Or so I'm told. I'd sure like to know first
hand, though.

You don't think Darren was attempting to pull the group's leg do you?

Not at all. I took it just as he said it, and assumed that Stair was just
displaying a bit of braggadocio. I don't see Darren as the baiting type.

Naw...guys like Stair are always thinking they'll get protection in the face
of their enemas...uh, enemies. I don't believe that their mind-set includes
being spirited off to safety out of reach of their foes, even if it -is- to
the right hand of God which is where I'll bet Stair thinks he'll end up.

I previously assumed it would be. Now, I don't know that there'll even
be a "trial" - perhaps just a "decision"! ;-)

Shortly after 10:00 EST / 15:00 UTC I flipped over to 7.465 to see if
Stair was discussing anything about his trial. He was already
discussing it and about all I caught was he was free AND THE RECORD
WOULD BE PURGED!

I tell you who's disappointed besides us if the profit skates.

The young "brothers" at CCI.

All those wigs.

All that Vaseline.

And no profit.

Plus they gotta give back all the raffle money.

Bummer.
