Anyone stupid enough to pay that
kind of price for a Sony 2010 deserves to
be screwed out of their money.

An Ebay Australia auction for an "As New" Sony ICF-2001D (which is
pretty much the same thing with maybe different accessories; in some
countries it might not have exactly the same frequency coverage) ended
on Saturday at 305 Australian dollars.

According to xe.com, this is $233.135 U.S. but I don't know if this is
the price for someone who speculates in millions of dollars or the
price that is charged by a bank to someone who uses a credit card from
one country in a restaurant in the other.

I believe XE has the going rates on the foreign exchange markets at the
time of your search. I'm not a currency broker, so I have no idea how
this might relate to an ebay auction if you were an American and buying
this radio from someone in Australia.

The Sony 2010 originally sold for $350 or so, IIRC. I remember paying
$200 for a brand new, in the box, Japan made one in 1999 or so via an
online radio swap site. I got rid of it a year later-traded it for a
Yaesu FRG-8800, which I still use as my main DX radio. The 2010 was a
good radio, but my tabletop still beats it hands down. Anyway, that 2010
on ebay sold for about TWICE what it cost new only a few (five or so)
years ago. I can understand the collector value of a rare Collins or
Hammarlund, but a Sony 2010 isn't that old, and its technology is a
little outdated by 2004 standards. On top of that, there were a zillion
made over 20 years, so it isn't that rare. Only an ebay nut could pay
double what a modern radio cost new. One last thing: I once saw a 1950s
Zenith clock radio go for over $1000 on ebay. And the picture in he
listing was fuzzy, too!

FWIW - The last time one of these "New-in-the-Box" Sony ICF-2010
Radios was 'bid-up' on eBay above $600. The two High Bidders
were both from South America.
