years. This is the first time in recorded history that India has been

No, this is not the first time in recorded history that India has been hit by a
tsunami. I might suggest that you do a bit of reading.

I'm not speaking for Jack, but I think his comments may have been referring to
tsunami's hitting the east coast of North America, which they indeed have.
