For the same price of those two cheap radios you could have had one
excellent radio that actually worked superbly.
So, you sent two donations to the Communist Party of China.

The US gov. loves the commies so much that they even borrow money from
them. Barry Goldwater is turning in his grave, along with Patton and
thousands of others who died fighting that particular evil.

dxhaze will be by shortly to tell us how GOOD free enterprise is, even
when dealing with the devil.

Most any free enterprise is good 'tard boy as long as it does not involve trade

Clue: The Chinese Communist Party has its hand in practically every
"business" undertaking in China. Since everything electronic is now made
in China, this means that it's now impossible to find a brand new SW
radio that does NOT have some connection to the Chinese Communist Party.
If you want to know who to thank for this, look at the American and
Japanese CEOs who can't resist having their products made by laborers
making 10 cents a day, even if it means giving the ruling party a cut of
the profits. In the process, they have so destroyed the industrial bases
of America and Japan that the Japanese economy is in a permanent
depression and the US economy is headed there, and the US military can't
adequately equip its soldiers. Americans and Japanese: when you're
starving to death because all the jobs in your countries have been
exported to China, don't eat your Degen, eat the nearest filthy rich
"multinational" CEO. Oh, you COULD buy a used "new in box" made in Japan
Sony off ebay-if you want to pay an exorbitant price for it.

I own several radios none of which were made in mainland China.

I don't know. When I was a kid, all my pets met untimely ends, so
eventually I got banned from the pet stores. I now have no idea what
they carry in the way of Merchandise OR what it tastes like cooked.

The Quebecois were Canadian before the Anglais wars, so it's unlikely
they'd keep each other as pets...the interior decorating types
notwithstanding, of course.

As for training, it's not needed. Hockey seems to be in the blood from
birth. In order to keep a universal balance, ninety percent of our
Football players are YouAlls and about the same ratio of YOUR hockey
players are Canadians...except this year, when they're merely unemployed.

False!
The only in production Sony SW radios I am aware of that are made in China
are the
low end SW35 & SW11 models.

Wrong! Blame the Chinese Communist Party which grossly underpays its
workforce and still insists on undervalueing its currency. Which
incidently, has been pegged to the US$ for a decade now while their economy
grows by leaps and bounds. Furthermore, as the US$ depreciates (at least
15% so far) so does the Chinese Yuan$ making Chinese produced products ever
more cheaper in the rest of the worlds currencies.

The Japanese are the most nepotistic society on earth. Beleive me they
would rather
employ Japanese rather then Chinese which the Japanese historically don't
carry any fond love for.

The world, including Japan, has simply been forced to compete on price. If
factories don't lower
their cost the company will cease to exist. Now it is China's move just as
it was Japan's back in the 80's.
We have been here before - how soon we forget!

Spot On! It always comes down to supply and demand, expenses
vs revenue, and who can stay profitable. Right now, the
environment in China allows for an easier path to
profitability for that market - regardless of how the little
guy may, or may not, get dumped on. I'm pretty confident that
is the way things will remain until the day when food,
clothing and shelter are completely free...

Selling out to China

Senior vice presidents of Microsoft: "It's definitely a cultural change to
use foreign workers. But if I can save a dollar, hallelujah."

The time for playing nice with corporate turncoats and their enablers in
government is over. It's time to name names and demand that American
companies act like they actually give a damn about the land of the free and
the home of the brave.

I thought so too, but just checking, I find no obvious

You are allowed to list items for future delivery on ebaY if you anticipate
having the product in hand within 30 days. This has been the case ever
since I helped run nicmac042200 to ground on ebaY a few years ago, even
though as usual ebaY refused to listen until it cost them something like a
quarter million in claims for non-delivery.

His gimmick was selling future delivery of state quarters at a discount from
face value. You could buy quarters from him for as little as $2 a roll for
Hawaii and Alaska, due in 2008. Among other things, he got high FB ratings
by promising free shipping (at some future date) for anyone who left him
positive FB, so you had people telling everyone what great service, etc he
provided when in fact they had never received anything from him.

For an interesting story of the wilder and woolier days of ebaY, check
http://www.deja.com and type in nicmac and Ponzi. I had people telling me I
was wrong back then, too. Until they finally realized they weren't going to
get their $1000 in quarters they paid $700 for.
