"Coax-Seal" Sealant & "Stuf" for your Shortwave Listener
(SWL) Antenna's RF Connections [Weather Proofing] MIKE, It is Not good to use because it contains Chemicals that can cause the 'mechanical' Electrical Connections to "Corrode" {form an oxide} that will 'inhibit' the Electrical Conductivity of the mechanical Electrical Connection. However, If Silicon Sealer is 'all-you-got': 1. First wrap the 'mechanical' Electrical Connections with Black Electrical Tape. 2. Second use a Brush to Paint-Smear the Silicon Sealer all over the Electrical Tape and an Inch or two beyond. THE BETTER IDEA IS TO USE "COAX-SEAL" SEALANT The-Better-Way is to use "Coax Seal" as others have recommended here.
