The US has demonstrated a similar lack of concern for shortwave radio
listners. I'd say we have a lot in common. I refer to broadband over powerlines. Where I live, the apartments all come with DSL if you can afford it, and no outdoor antennas allowed. That sure makes a mess out of shortwave. I can't imagine what it does to an amateur trying to communicate. tianli wrote: Amateur Radio Under Threat in the UK o Advocates total disregard of all International rules in the interest of National flexibility o Suggest that 60% of all spectrum is tradable o Is in favour of Software/Cognitive Radio that could potentially operate on top of Radio Amateurs without warning o Proposes to withdraw from CB, Amateur, Maritime licensing o Proposes to simplify access to entrants - barely after the new License structure is in place http://www.eham.net/articles/10030 And you think it won't happen in the U.S. of A.? America Needs Unchained Spectrum http://www.businessweek.com/technolo...05014_6520.htm And you thought DRM was a DXers nightmare. |
