BBC has reported that the leader of China's Communist Party during the
1989 prodemocracy demonstrations in Tainanmen (sp?) Square has died. (I won't even try to spell his name from the phonetic rendering given by the BBC.) He openly supported the demonstrators and was canned for doing so, just a day before the Chinese army blew them all away. He spent the rest of his life-some 15 years-under house arrest. China has tried to make the Chinese forget that he ever existed, although he was a major architect of the economic reform process that led to China becoming an economic powerhouse. ----== Posted via Newsfeeds.Com - Unlimited-Uncensored-Secure Usenet News==---- http://www.newsfeeds.com The #1 Newsgroup Service in the World! 100,000 Newsgroups ---= East/West-Coast Server Farms - Total Privacy via Encryption =--- |
