the US), and property crimes being a bit *higher*, especially in the
western provinces. The following gives a first blush accounting:

Hate to pick nits, Brian, but liberal and nazi are diametrically opposed.
Nazis are ultra-conservative. Actually, I can't figure out why the far end
of liberalism is considered to be communism. From the standpoint of freedom,
it's virtually impossible to tell a real difference between fascism on the
right and communism on the left.. they've met in the middle 'round the
back..

The problem, I think, Brenda, is that fascism can be practiced by
*anybody* as long as one allows intolerance and tunnel vision to rule
one's attitudes and actions. Nobody is immune, not liberals or
conservatives, not Christians or Muslims, not nazis or Communists. On
this list, we unfortunately have a number of people who, if given
enough power, might fit the description, if one assumes their posts to
be true reflections of their character. I tend toward the opinion that
it is largely bluster, that most on here are just trying to get a rise
out of others - sort of being a bully with no repercussions.

Brian was just acting the part of the insulting bully with his
comments, just because he can - so common on these newsgroups. I don't
blame him - the temptation to mistreat people with whom you disagree
can be powerful; I know it is for me.

Gotta agree with jd on this one.

1) Like the old NRA bumper sticker quite correctly says: "If you outlaw guns
(and this can be applied to many things), then only outlaws will have guns".

2) People have been killing one another very effectively for milennia
without the need of a firearm of any sort. In fact, the lunatic weapon of
choice would seem to be a knife/machete/sword or that ilk.

3) There were no "assault rifles" used at the Columbine shootings. The
closest to an assault weapon would have been the 9mm semi-auto handgun used
by Dylan.

"
What they carried:
Dylan -- Intratec TEC-DC-9 (9-mm semi-automatic handgun) attached to a strap
slung over his shoulder (under coat), Stevens 12-gauge double-barrel shotgun
(barrel sawed down to approximately 23 inches, initially half-hidden in
Dylan's cargos).

Eric -- 10-shot Hi-Point model 995 carbine rifle on a strap (under coat),
Savage-Springfield 12-gauge pump shotgun he called 'Arlene' (named after a
Doom character - initially in one of the duffels carried to the top of the
grassy knoll -- stock and barrel sawed off, reducing the entire gun to 26
inches).

The sawed-off weapons were so short that firing repeatedly from them caused
their hands to bleed on the practice range initially. They apparently
acclimitized to the weapons over the months preceding the shootings. Both
gunmen also carried several knives, but they did not use them on April 20.

The shooters named their pipe bombs. Four bombs are mentioned on Eric's
website, along with their specs. 'Vengeance' (pictured at bottom) and
'Atlanta' were found at the Klebold residence when police searched it."

Hmmmm... You asserted that if assault rifles weren't avilable, a
"Columbine" would not have happened. I'm asserting that assault rifles are
not at all necessary to carry out a tragedy similar to a "Columbine". To
refute that, you are now somehow equating *police* to the mental
deficients that committed the Columbine tragedy? Sheesh... The first thing
you do when you find yourself in a hole is to quit digging. I think you

assistance of some heavy equipment!!

Defective humans who are not thinking rationally can accomplish a great

And yet they are highly prized.

Which is "highly prized"? The defective person or the scary assault rifle?
(Not that it makes one whit of difference either way...) Still, perhaps

it's
a sign that you have come to your senses and realize that deficient humans
who are not thinking rationally can accomplish a great many evil things
without the benefit of a scary "Assault Rifle".

You really have no idea what you're talking about. The so-called "assault
rifle" is just a plain old semi-auto that looks scary to liberals. They work
EXACTLY the same. A true assault rifle, fully automatic, has been extremely
regulated since 1934. I have a .22 rifle that is semi-auto and tube fed, it
holds 18 rounds. Is this also an "assault rifle" The rifles you speak of as
being "highly prized" are also highly expensive and have been found to be
used in less that 1% of all firearms crimes. There basically a non-issue,
well, to rational thinking people that is.

Fair enough, and I agree. You must have some real concerns with
the
Patriot Act and our current leadership, then, because I sure do,
vis-a-vis the Bill of Rights. The potential exists to make life
quite
a bit more obnoxious under that Act.

Yeah, but it's conservative opression, so it's ok. Right?

Damn right! It sure beats left-wing 'tard boy oppression any old
day.

Ok. Now I understand. You don't like the Constitution.

LMAO... the 'tard just made another stupid statement.

You don't understand jack, 'tard boy.

Yeah, but I do understand that you don't like the Constitution. Are you
a
communist?

You're just a hopeless 'tard boy.

Now go play with your ant farm.

A gun toting communist. Shouldn't you be arrested and sent to Guantanamo
with all those other freedom-hating thugs?

I've already been to Guantanamo, 'tard boy... next time I go, I'm going to drag
you by your little faggot ears down there with me.

Get the picture, piece of ****?
