Got in SWL about forty years ago, then took a long hiatus I renewed my interest and got a general class ham license, then with the advent of computers, I lost interest. Recently I thought about how much I enjoyed SWL. So I did a little research on the web and bought a very inexpensive receiver, Grundig mini 100, 'cause I sold my old ham gear..the old Kenwood 940 had a really nice general coverage receiver. Question is where I can find some broadcasts that discuss SWL in general? If I find this as gratifying as I did all those years ago I have my eye on a Sony 7600. I enjoyed reading some of the posts here, you guys are really into it and know your stuff. Have always found newsgroups to be fairly tolerant of newbies and their inane questions. Hope to get up to speed with all the info I am accumulating. Welcome to our dysfunctional group! As was mentioned, Glenn Hauser's World of Radio is on WWCR, and on Saturday Night the half hour before it is the DX Party Line. The DX Party Line can also be heard on HCJB - Quito, Ecuador. --Mike L. |
