I know a man who MADE one using a cordless battery operated screwdriver.
I suspect that may be where they got their name. He talked MOBILE 2 MOBILE to France from NC, USA; but I expect the conditions were "right" at the moment. That was several years ago. I don't recall seeing him with that lately. Don't know if he changed vehicles and it was a bit more difficult to brace up on the second one. Seems the first vehicle was a station wagon. I think they are used mainly for transceivers as opposed to receivers. ========== wrote: I think there was a thread recently where someone wanted a link to a "screwdriver mobile antenna". Found this while looking for NiMH cells. http://www.mfjenterprises.com/produc...rodid=MFJ-1662 Terry |
