Default Norwegian Amateur Stations Gain Access to 5MHz Frequencies

The Norwegian Post and Telecommunications Authority has granted permission
to Norwegian amateur radio club stations to operate on eight 5MHz-band spot
frequencies from 1 April 2005 until 31 December 2007. The permitted modes
are upper sideband and CW, with a maximum transmitter power of 100 watts.
The centre frequencies of the channels a 5280, 5290, 5332, 5348, 5368,
5373, 5400 and 5405kHz, with the upper sideband 'dial frequency' being
1.5kHz lower in each case.

The permission has been granted on a non-interference-basis. Thanks to the
NRRL HF Traffic Manager, Tom Segalstad, LA4LN, for this news story.
