Heard an announcement about BBC changes as of March 27 just prior to the 1400 news. http://www.bbc.co.uk/worldservice/sc...es/index.shtml Apparently English, Arabic, Spanish and Portuguese for South America will be reduced, if not more. I've not had time yet to peruse everything. I just looked at the Americas listings. Apparently programming in English and Spanish for the Americas will be reduced to morning and evening prime time, and the Portuguese service for Brazil will be eliminated. I noticed that the alternate freq for the English service to Central America (what most US citizens listen to) will be moved up an hour so that 9525 will be on between 0000 and 0300 and 6135 will be on 0300 to 0500 (right now 9525 starts at 0100 and 6135 at 0400). 5975 will still be on until 0500, but no mention was made of transmitter location being changed, so if the site for 5975 is moved off Antigua audibility in the US may suffer, although that's just speculation on my part. ----== Posted via Newsfeeds.Com - Unlimited-Uncensored-Secure Usenet News==---- http://www.newsfeeds.com The #1 Newsgroup Service in the World! 120,000+ Newsgroups ----= East and West-Coast Server Farms - Total Privacy via Encryption =---- |
