I think it's got something to do with newsreader incompatibility. It's the font that Leonard's newsreader is using for the ISO-8859-2 character encoding. The header in your message is setting the encoding to ISO-8859-2, the character set for eastern and central European languages. English normally uses ISO-8859-1.
