I also use deep cycle batteries while on 12vdc-only DXpeditions, running an
R-75, IC-756Pro, laptop computer, and various accessories.

My favorite bang-for-the-buck is Walmart's $54.98 deep cycle, which is 115
amp hours. I hate carrying them, even if it's just from my garage to my
DXpedition van, but the results are worth it. The power just goes and goes
before recharging is needed.

Just out of curiosity, how much does that battery weigh?

It weighs about 50# - though it gets heavier the farther you have to
carry it 8-} There are lighter models, a group 24 size is about 6 or
7 pounds lighter though they are typically about 20 amp-hours less
capacity.
