My Grandpaw was nienty six years old when he passed away back in the
1970's and he smoked a pack of non filter Camel cigarettes everyday.I
always tell people if you don't smoke, don't start smoking,if you are a
smoker, you should consider stop smoking.Smoking is a nasty habit and it
definetly can and sometimes does lead to lung cancer.Hospital clinics
can show you photos/X-Rays of the difference between healthy lungs of
non smokers and the darkened cracked lungs of a smoker.I DO need to Quit
smoking!

In 1972 I did quit smoking for nineteen years.I carried some toothpicks
around with me and instead of lighting up a cigarette,I chewed on a
toothpick. It took about two months for all of the nicotine to get out of
my body and I didn't have a craving for a cigarette anymore.I have a six
ounce can and a half a six ounce can of TOP brand name cigarette tobacco
here. When I finish smoking that tobacco,I am going to try to stop
smoking again.

I encourage people to smoke. I always mention how it stimulates brain
activity, and can help in controling your appitite.
What a wonderful hobby. God bless the cultivators of tobacco. Darren

"I don't want to bore you with statistical data."
JS Well, in your exact words, "I've done the math". That is a pretty
specific statement that says you have determined with mathematical
precision that you have no appreciable risk from smoking. So, please
provide the math that supports your conclusion.

"I'm beyond the reaches of your intellectual appeal. Anti- smoking
campaigns are blazing all around me. One thing I like, my organs
aren't suitable for transplantation, because of cigarettes."

JS Hmmm...there must be a reason that the organs of a smoker are not
considered suitable for transplant into a living body. I wonder what
that reason could be.....

I think there are some tobacco growers here in Mississippi.I once saw a
website where I can buy some tobacco plants,I think I can grow some
tobacco in my back yard.Heck, tobacco is grown in some States that have a
colder climate than here where I live.Thing is though, some damn assholes
would probally come over here and steal my tobacco unless I built a
fence with an alarm system.

Let's crank things up a notch. You want to reason with me, useing
established data.
Alright, I assume the position of a brick wall.
It's comparible to the statistics on "the gay lifestyle". You could
site all of the medical data on hepatitis, aids, overall shortened
life-span, occuring as a result of a sodomite existance. They'll, by in
large, be defiant of your cold facts.
My smoking is under attack. Meanwhile, the same intellectuals want me
to deny the stats on gayness, and dub it a virtue.
Hypocricy.
Obesity is another can of worms.

Abhorant sexual devience is being touted, and my purogative to smoke is
increasingly threatened. Darren

John S. April 19th 05 05:41 PM

All I'm asking for are the numbers when "you did the math".

"Abhorant sexual devience is being touted, and my purogative to smoke
is
increasingly threatened."

JS I don't see any message in this thread where anyone touted
anything involving sex. And I'm not threatening your decision to
smoke, but I am presenting well established information about the
correlation between smoking and numerous serious health problems.

JS But lets stick with the first question...where are the numbers.

Now y'all know somewhat by what I mean when I said, fed govt is driving a
wedge through the middle of America.I do respect your right to smoke
though.

Apparently, you feel as though you've got me cornered on this issue of
math.
Again, my math is of the casino variety. A gambler's odds.
I'm simply trying to appeal to a more philosophical aspect of the
issue.
If the higher thinkers, the enlightened one's amidst us in our
culture, invoke their will on me, I'll squirm out from under the boot.
I maintain that I am free to smoke. If I blow my smoke in your face,
I've crossed a line.
You're free not to smoke. If you reach for my freedom, you've crossed
a line. Darren

John S. April 19th 05 06:09 PM

Please feel free to smoke as many high priced cartons of cigarettes as
you wish.
