The 2005 International Lighthouse / Lightship Weekend will run over the
weekend of 20 and 21 August. Guidelines for the weekend can be found on the
Internet.

The basic objective of the event is to promote public awareness of
lighthouses and lightships and their need for preservation and restoration,
to promote amateur radio and to foster International goodwill.

Last year over 380 lighthouse stations were established in 52 countries and
