Has anyone here ever used a digital frequency display on a FRG-7, and if so
how?

I am aware of the DFD units from AADE, but I'm wondering if there's an
easier way. I also saw a guy list an "Outboard Digital Display for FRG-7
receiver" with a picture of his shack, but couldn't make out what it was.

I know it's sacrilegious to the true FRG-7 crowd, but I like having a
digital display telling me exactly where I am. So, I'm interested in adding
one. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

My FRG-7 has been modified with a built-in digital display. It was done by
Radio West in California back in the '70s. Works like a champ. I don't think
they're still in business, though.
