Possible Record Price for Drake R7
Some of you may be bidding on this, but for

Seems to me that in the last year or so R7's were selling for $800 or so let's say and R7A's commanded the over $1000 price. I did see an ad on rec.radio.swap for some Drake gear which included an R7 so I emailed the guy and he told me he was asking $1195 for it with 3 filters and the NB, which I considered to be over priced. Guess we'll see in another day or so if this particular one sells outright or whether he might approach the high bidder. dxAce Michigan USA |

Sorry to be pest but do you know what center frequency these filters operate on? The R8 and R8B are around 50 KHz and if they are Drake stock filters I was wondering if they were also low frequency IF filters or something higher? All are Drake except the 3 kHz filter which is from Sherwood Engineering though I'm certain he had those made up by someone else. They are centered around 5.695 MHz or so as I recall. I was also wondering if you found the noise blanker to be effective but you are in a fairly low noise area so I suspect you don't know. The noise blanker is effective, though I rarely have to use it. Generally the S meters sit on S1 or below here during the day, even with several hundred feet of wire connected to the receivers.
