Default Radio New Zealand is off the air on 15,720 again

New Zealand seems to have a continuing problems on 15,720. The station
is not on the air again on this frequency. Just a few minutes ago around
the 04:35 UTC time frame a carrier with no audio came up for a minute
and that has been it so far this evening.

This seems to be a recurring problem and it often means that they will
be missing on 11,820 when they switch to that at 04:59 UTC.

Sometimes they do show up on 11,820 and sometimes they don't show up
until 07:06 UTC on 9,885.

I sent them an email last time and they said it was due to regular
maintenance.

Got a carrier now with no audio at 04:43 UTC at the expected signal
level for New Zealand at this time.

They were missing for a while on 11,820. I checked back at 06:35 UTC and
they were on the air with a fine signal so some time between 05:15 and
06:35 they came on the air.

Radio Aus. is sure coming in good, compared to a couple of days ago.
Around 3:10 UTC it was S5-S7 and zero background noise. It was strange
tuning it in, as I turned on the radio and thought 15 MHz was dead.
No noise, just signals. RNZI was there, but I was setting up to
tape RA so I didn't bother with a signal check.

Sounds like transmitter and/or feed problems. The fact that they're
denying the problem probably means that they don't have the wherewithal
to fix it, likely due to budget cuts. Shortsighted govts all over the
world are cutting SW budgets.

They also had some pretty serious weather down there. One area
was reported to get 1/2 meter (20 inches) of rain in 36 hours.
