I am going to the wal mart foodstore this afternoon.I will stop off at
the Radio Shack store at the Mall again and see whether or not it is a
S350 or S350DL radio. There is another Radio Shack store next to the wal
mart store and I will stop off there too.

Not so sure about the difference in performance, but there is most
definately a difference in price...

At $75.00 I would opt for a fully warranted new one from Radio Shack
for $99.00.

Factory refurbs and shelf models are only ok if you can get them for
75% of retail.

He is looking for the S350DL, not the S350. Big difference in
performance.

The drift problem seems to have been fixed, at least it's no longer a
problem on my S350DL. It's also very sensitive off the whip antenna.
The S350DL is now my portable radio of choice, beating out the YB400,
Sony 7600G and ATS909, all of which I own.

How does the new, improved 350 DL compare to the original 350 version
as far as sensitivity... i.e. are they the same in that regard?

What about the selectivity of the 350 DL compared to the 350?

I have the Tecsun version of the 350... a BCL2000. I love it for MW, but
rarely use it for SW due to less than stellar selectivity. Mine is one of the last
Tecsun models with English lettering and I don't have much of a problem with
drift. So I'm wondering if upgrading is worth it, just to have no drift... or are
sensitivity and selectivity improved enough to make the switch?

Thanks for any feedback.

I cannot answer that question, I have never used the S350. The
following article suggests that it is not worth upgrading at this
time.

"Volks-DXing-Radio". A low cost AM-FM-SW Radio with Good Sound for:
the bedside, kitchen or work shop; a sports radio at work and in the
office; or portable for On-the-Go Radio Enjoyment; much like the
GE Superadio I, GE Superadio II and GE Superadio III. Many 'potential'
Buyers of the Grundig S350 are looking for a replacement/upgrade for
their GE Superadios.

The Grundig S350 "Feels Comfortable" to use and the 'fullness of
the sound' of the Grundig S350 is pleasant to listen to for the
Human Voice. The FM Audio Fidelity {Music Sound Quality} of the
Grundig S350 single 4" speaker is better than the CCRadio Plus's
"Human Voice Engineered 5" Speaker and almost as good as the
GE Superadio III's dual 6" and 2" speakers with crossover network.
NEWS =3D http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Grundig-S350/

The Grundig S350 / Eton S350DL is a 'step back in the right

and the frequency and time are Easy-to-See with out glasses.
The Key to using the Grundig S350 is using the Wide and Narrow
Filters; SW-LPF and RF Gain Control to get what you want out of
this Super Radio.
