There's a nice GPR-90 receiver up on eBay. I've always liked the look of
the
darn things.

Never owned one, but, like you, think it is a piece of art.

You took the words right out of my mouth. Now THAT'S a good old
fashioned RECEIVER! Makes a DX'er lick their chops just to look at it.

B'leive you said You 're missing some shingles from your house
due to Katrina..

& THEN buy the receiver ?

Yeah, it looks a lot better than the piece of crap radios the DRM Troll
has been pointing at.

The ham that gave me my conditional/general ham test back in the '60s
had a TMC GRP-90 along with a Hammarlund HQ-180. The TMC receiver was
nicer in my experience. He also had a Barker and Williamson SSB
transmitter. Loved this old stuff!

Well that just shows you that some people know how to take care of what
they have. That radio looks brand new.

You seem to have quite a collection. What radio do you end up spending
most of your time listening to anyway?

Well I got it from Chuck KA6UUP in like new condition and I will say if any
of you ever do biz with him, you wont go wrong. He's just as addicted to
these old BAs like myself and has quite a collection too. I use three
differant radios, R-5000, SP-600 and SX-28. If I'm at the computer I use the
R-5000 and SP-600 but if I'm in my den I use the SX-28. They all get a lot
of use.
