I have said before in this news group that batteries date back to over
three thousand years ago and those batteries were used for
electroplating,, or something to that affect.You think! you! want to put
different words in my mouth!? Open Up,Baby!,, Here it comes!!!!!!

Probably a Jacob's ladder. I made one of these once using a big neon
sign transformer. The sixteen thousand volts would jump a half inch gab
at the bottom of the rabbit ear shape electrodes and then move up the
diverging wires because of hot air.
