I have a ARA MLA-2/B loop antenna that is 50 years old and looks like
it could
survive a near miss by an A-bomb.

It is "an impedence tranformer from a 50 ohm transmisio line to the
nominal 377
ohm radiation resistance of free space".

It is also the ugliest antenna I have ever seen.

I haven't had much luck with it but I hope to get it going in the next
few weeks.

Radio Astronomy types love these things.
