Default Shortwave Rdio Reccomendation ??

I use the Eton E1. It has AM/LSB/USB all with or without synchronous
detection (sync works great!), passband tuning, selectivities 7/4/2.3
kHz, bass & treble controls, 1,700 memories, tuning steps & readout are
1 kHz, 100Hz & 10Hz. Can run on 4 D batteries to avoid some noises
coming thru AC power. Only about 5 pounds with batteries, so I just set
it on my lap. Considered by many the best portable ever. No radio is
perfect, but most $500 radios are good. If you feel unsure about what
to get, you might want to compare in detail reviews such as those in
the 2006 Passport to World Band Radio (it's under $20 shipped from
Amazon). George S., MN
