Wal-Mart Ordered to Pay $172 Million by Jury
"What was compelling for the jury was that we put a lot of evidence before them of memos by Wal-Mart from seven years ago that concluded they had been breaking the law," said Jessica Grant, a lawyer for the plaintiffs. "Instead of taking steps to solve the problem, Wal-Mart concealed it." Wal-Mart faces similar lawsuits in over 30 states, said Grant, whose firm is pressing two of the court challenges, one in Maryland and the other in Massachusetts, on behalf of 80,000 class-action plaintiffs. http://www.theepochtimes.com/news/5-12-22/36093.html "SeeingEyeDog" wrote in message ... Kaito (Degen) is a subsidiary of China National Electronics Import & Export Shenzhen Company (CEIEC ShenZhen) http://www.ceiecsz.com.cn/ The CEIEC company is a conglomerate who manufactures hundreds of electronic products with brand names such as Mastech, Sinometer, Unistar, Kaiwa, Epsic, Hisonic. The company is distributed in more than ten enterprises in the fields of international trade, real estate, financial securities and high & new tech industries. ANY Chinese company in China as large and broad as CEIEC inevitably is intimately associated with the PLA and the Chinese Communist Party. http://www.ceiecsz.com.cn/en/about.company.htm "dk" wrote in message oups.com... I'm as anti-Wal-Mart as they come, but I do remember seeing a photo review of the Degen factory on radiointel.com, and things looked pretty good. I just checked on the website and can't seem to come accross it for a link. From what I remember of it, the working conditions looked very good. |
