Default CIAO - 530 kHz

Been hanging around 530 kHz for various reasons and tonight wasn't hearing Radio
Vision Cristiana. A bit ago I started hearing some Indian type music on the
frequency, and announcer is not in English or French. Could pick out some phone
numbers given out with the area code (416). Turns out the station is CIAO in
Brampton, ON. They do ethnic programming.

Thought it odd when I turned on the Superadio II and found that the station was
coming from either the east or the west of me.

They run 1000 watts daytime and supposedly 250 at night. It sounds like they
haven't yet dropped power though it's past sunset.

I am about 40 miles from the Soo and can hear CIRS 530, the Bridge
low-power transmitter giving tourist information. Also the Mackinac
Bridge traffic radio comes in well, usually both at once. You may hear
them at times. there are a lot of interesting low-power college and
community stations on 530 bu it is rare to hear them.
