You can listen ''free'' (most days) on a $500 radio with a 50 foot antenna, or, you can listen for $13/month on a $20 dollar radio with a bean bag size antenna. Oh, so you *do* need a subscription. That's what I thought. Oh well...there goes that idea. And just so you know, it's trivially easy to find a real radio that costs less than $500. Just go to Universal Radio's website....there are tons of them. Amazon.com is another place you could check, or ebay for that matter. The content is the same, but there's big difference in audio quality and link robustness. Right, I guess the audio quality must suck with those dropouts occurring all the time. There are at least 2 kinds of shortwave listener. One just likes fishing for stations and doesn't care abgout content. The other is interested in the voices from afar. Some of us are a little of both and have the widest possible range of receiving options. If you think these are the only kinds of listeners, you haven't been listening very long. I suggest that, instead of listening to the "voices from afar", you get some help for those voices in your head. |

Each time in the past two weeks that I tried to tune in, I haven't picked it up. The schedule on primetimeshortwave can be confirmed he http://israelradio.org/sw.htm (although I just emailed the primetimeshortwave maintainer to note that a frequency listed for North America appears to be targeted to Africa). Has anyone had luck receiving an English broadcast from Israel? Hearing them at a decent level here this afternoon on 7545 at 2000. dxAce Michigan USA Drake R7, R8, R8B and SW1 |
