I heard (somewhere) a very convincing program which was demonstrating that NPR isn't really liberal, that if liberal, it is to the extreme right of that category. Not that it necessarily started out that way. I believe the program was based on an analysis of the amount of time given right or near right spokesmen versus the amount of time (and number) of left/liberal commentary. The left has gone right, and the true left is off the mainstream map. It's true that NPR, like much of the media, is bending over (backwards?...nah...just bending over...) to appear ''fair and balanced''. This is based on the flawed premise that there's 2 sides to the truth. Further proof that we are screwed. I believe in the World Service, but even they fall prey to Bush World paranoia. |

If I happen to think about it this coming Saturday evening,I might tune
in to NPR and see if they are still running the Thistle and the Shamrock (Fiona Richie) music.However,I have buku CDs of Scotland and Ireland music for my radio thingy.Aren't you sooooo glad you aren't Scotch Irish by Ancestry like I am? More Irish than the Irish themselfs. cuhulin |
