I note that the order of the rotors cannot be changed in the
commercial product, they always rotate the same, and their order and
wiring is fixed and known, vastly simplifying breaking the code. On
top of which the Feds have and can break the code or any code, with a
Cray it should take 2 messages.


They prohibited ASCII over ten years after its creation, and with
countless sources of the ASCII code to choose from. The fact that
they knew the code (or could easily find it) didn't make any
difference to them. Like I said, they hardly ever prosecute anyway.
