Space Weather News for March 19, 2006
http://spaceweather.com WEEKEND AURORAS: A solar wind stream hit Earth on March 18th, sparking a geomagnetic storm and auroras over northern US states such as Wisconsin, Minnesota and Michigan. It's no coincidence that auroras are showing up now--on the eve of Northern Spring. History shows that weeks around the equinoxes are often good times to catch Northern Lights. Visit http://spaceweather.com for more information and pictures of this weekend's auroras. |

Well,
I guess that explains why the bands sound like buzz saws! They have been extremely noisy for the last couple of days. Hopefully we will have quieter periods soon. I suspect before long our power grid will go down permanently. Then SWLing will be perfect again without any electrical disturbances. We will have to run everything off solar and wind power. ![]() Subject: aurora avenue 98101 Er, no part of Aurora Ave. is in 98101 (Downtown Seattle). It really starts at the south border of 98109. The Battery St. tunnel is in 98121 (the Denny Regrade) and by the time Hwy. 99 gets to 98101, it's The Alaskan Way Viaduct.
