HD is ibiquity's meaningless marketing term. Here are three places you won't see much of the term "High Definition". http://ibiquity.com/ http://www.hdradio.com/index.php http://www.hdradioalliance.com/index.php Frank Dresser How about "High Density"? Seems to describe the way digital radio sounds on a conventional AM detector and the way complainants characterise the interference. Some might also say it characterises the way a digital receiver sounds - certainly not CD quality. Tom That reminds me that ibiquity's stylized "HD" symbol looks like a recycled version of the cryptic CH symbol found on the once- common high density 1.44 Mb floppy disks. I'd think a company as aware of marketing as ibiquity would have been more sensitive to the image of a short digital lifecycle. Frank Dresser |
