Default Sanyo Radio

Yesterday at the Goodwill store I bought a Sanyo model 258OK
MW/FM/Cassette/SW1/SW2 radio.SW1 2.3 to 7.0 SW2 7.5 to 23.0

It is one of those kinds of radios which the power cord plugs into the
back of the radio (like my old Norelco electric shaver does) and the
other end of the cord plugs into a wall outlet. The cord wasen't with the
radio, but I bought the transistor radio anyway.

The radio doesn't work at all,it wont say a thing.I even tried some
fresh batteries with the radio. What could be wrong with the radio? I
guess I threw two dollars away on some more junk,eh? I dont know how to
work on radios. It would make a good doorstop anyway because it is so
heavy.
