So does this spell the end of Finland as a SW broadcaster, or is it only the Pori site that is going away ? I haven't had a copy of Passport in a while .... I used to listen to them as well, and enjoyed their shows. Another one I used to like was Radio Nacional from Brasilia: they used to have an english broadcast in 15 mhz band (15.415 ?) . It has been quite a while so I don't remember any more. Their 11.780 broadcast comes in very well most of the time here in Puget Sound country (Seattle S).

We are as light upon the waters + Brio "Juha Seppälä" wrote in message ... YLE Radio Finland - www.radiofinland.fi - closing a medium- and shortwave broadcasting systems at Pori shortwave station at 31.12.2006. No more shortwaveprograms and programms at 963 kHz am-channel after that. After 1.1.2007 YLE Radio Finland operates only at 558 kHz. This frequency coverages Baltic-states and southern Finland. juho |
