Bose Wave Radio - What's Your Opinion ?
D Peter Maus wrote: Smart move. Bose products are expensive, promise much, and fail to live up to the promise. Truth is, that Bose products exist to fund Amar Bose' laboratory. That's one reason you don't ever see them on sale, or sold through traditional audio/electronics outlets. And you never see them sold side by side with other audio products. I, too, found the Wave Radio to be a disappointment. Like Bose' speaker systems. Bose products are also routinely outperformed by Henry Kloss designs. For about 30% less money. A few years ago, I bought a Cambridge 88 (from a member of this newsgroup, btw) and it's been in daily use since. Exceptional audio performance for it's package, and AM/FM performance is very good. Many college students use Cambridge 88 and Cambridge 88 CD models as their stereo systems. A practice that's found it's way into many homes, as well. Howdy! I hope the 88 is still living up to its reputation, I'm the one that sold you that radio, with one side not playing? I have my own in my bedroom and boy, does it ROCK. I honestly think the Bose can't hold a candle to it... with seperate L and R channels and a dedicated subwoofer, it just amazes me every time I play it. The iPod+Kloss 88 is a match made in heaven. Good to hear you liked the 88, Mr. Maus! Adam |
