The 7600GR is a good receiver for the money. I've seen it in
closeouts for $99US but $129 or $149 is more common. The synch detection is the great feature, on AM. You'll wonder how you got along without it. It is however a somewhat noisy synch detection, compared to higher priced ones. It works great on strong signals (which suffer as much from selective fading as weak signals and so need it too, if they're not local), and is tolerable if selecting the sideband with it allows you to get away from splatter on an adjacent channel even on weak signals. Alas it loses synch on weak signals sometimes and is noisy about it when it does so. Just to mention what even more money would buy, but this deal is a good one. But this gets you in for low money. -- Ron Hardin On the internet, nobody knows you're a jerk. |
