Not with the current setup. Although there might be more bandwith
opened up once the analog part of the signal is turned off for good.
But that won't happen for YEARS.

The "killer ap" for AM IBOC is the improved sound and reduction of
static on the digital audio stream.

The killer ap for FM, though, I believe is the additional channels. I
doubt most people wil notice an increase in sound quality in "digital
FM" (if you can still call it that).
