i dont have that particular radio but none of the several different
sangean models that i own have "electronic switching". i cant think of
another radio that i have ever used that didnt use mechanical switching
on the power jack. if that radio does have this feature then it seems
to be of a more advanced design than is common. perhaps other circuits
are superior also? you know sony.... better quality, but usually just a
little bit odd.
