Most AM broadcasters utilize asymmetrical modulation where they often
allow %115 positive peaks

easy to come by. Last I heard WLW was using a Harris 50 KW digital AM

In case you missed it, the 500 KW was in the 1930s. 250 KW of audio was
not easy to come by. Last I heard WLW was using a Harris 50 KW digital AM
transmitter. See

I grew up in the shadow of the WLW tower and not too far away Voice of
America antenna farm.

Thanks for reminding me of this great radio history in Cincinnati.
