OK guys, it's that time of the year again. anyone
heading to Dayton this year? I won't be going. been
about 2 years for me. just don't like the crowds
there, too many people in one spot. been sticking to
the local fests. went to the 2-Rivers and the next
Breezeshooters fest in June. (largest in W.PA.).
it's the season.

Not me.
Only time I ever went was once in the 80s. It was an immense disappointment
and
way over-rated. The local fests are far better for many reasons. It's
amazingly become
a religion with some guys but I think they really just want to get away from
home for
a day or so. Neat hamfest? No. Fat men and masculine women wearing stupid
callsign
baseball caps and computer crap? Yes.

Mississippi exports some electricity to some other U.S.States.The folks
in Kemper County,Mississippi want a new coal fired (Mississippi Coal)
electricity power plant. The damn Sierra A.sholes are agains't
that.Kemper County is appealing to the Commie A.sholes in fed govt for
the new electricity power plant.

Every once in a while, there is talk around here for a new nuclear power
plant to be added to the Grand Gulf nuclear power plant near Stennis
Space Center.

Us Mississippi backwater hicks have elekstwicity.

Why don't you go head on and buy a MISSISSIPPI baseball cap? You can
tell people you are a Mississippi backwater hick.

Clive, it's "fat-unwashed-men", and scary women. I know where your
coming from. I always have fair luck at the bigger fest. but, i'm
a collector, so it's a bit different for me. the local fest means
a bag full of small parts, and a few less orders from mouser. also
a good BS session with some old friends, and bad coffee.

There's a Dayton, NV, too - an important town long ago in the Comstock
Lode days, the V&T Railroad hauled lots of silver from mines near
Dayton. Nowadays it's just a little place outside Carson City, with a
neat set of stamp mill ruins and a fascinating cemetery full of dead
miners from 120 years ago.
