Back in May there was an article about the above active antenna taken from
Popular Electronic - August 1997. In this article the writers William Sheets, K2MQL and Rudolf Graf KA2CWL, refer to a UHF transistor MFP3866. I have looked in all my transistor reference books and can find no reference to this transistor. The article is mute on the type of toroidal used for the transformer. Does anybody remember this article and has anybody research or, better yet, built the active antenna. If so could you please give me some help, especially in regard to the transistor. Like, what would be a suitable replacement or, what are the specs on it. Thanks Ron Harries VE7CUK |

The author is probably talking about an MPS3866; I am not sure if this is a
plastic version of a 2N3866, which was a very strong CATV type of transistor. Pete Ron Harries wrote in message news:XNlob.87773$EO3.40491@clgrps13...
