Has anyone tried to use the 8560 tube (common in older Motorola Micor,
etcVHF repeaters as a replacement for the conduction cooled /Eimac 8873 tube? Both have similar specs and I'd like to keep the conduction cooled feature of my SB-230. tnx, Doug/WA1TUT |

It is a smart conversion to maintain the quiet operation - BUT with a bit less power. I have never seen a web page outlining this change (parts, photos and instructions).
