One of the Elecraft radios will receive shortwave. It is the model
KX-1. It is an ultraportable small design, and receives rave reviews (as a ham tranceiver) from all who have built it. If you get the 30 meter option, it will cover the main shortwave BC frequencies from about 5 MHz to 15 MHz if memory serves correctly. Be aware that it will need to receive the SW broadcast using USB or LSB detection with the carrier zerobeat. Cost would be in the range of $350. ... Craig |
