A tax disaster is when the morons at the federal retirement agency
neglect to take out any state tax and I end up owing $8000.00. Cleaned me out and then some. So the radios that were going to keep me happily occupied fixing up during my retirement years now must go to keep the tax man from kicking in my door. And never think they wont. 73 Gary |

And never think they wont. 73 Gary Never heard of any Federal retirement system that was supposed to take out local state taxes. For that matter, State systems don't do that either, if you retire to another state. Shoulda known that. Ed |

They do not automatically deduct your State taxes. You apparently referred to them as morons for not doing that. You must contact them and advise them of the amount, (which you apparently have now done). http://www.opm.gov/retire/html/faqs/...p#withholdings I didn't mean to be mean-spirited in my reply to you, but it is difficult for me to understand how someone wouldn't look at their retirement deposit information and note that no state income tax was being withheld.
