This one kilowatt rated autotuner is fresh out of the box after arriving
less than two weeks ago. Why am I selling it? Because it doesn't do what I want it to do. I want it to tune my Van Gordon All Bander dipole via a 4:1 balun. It does not, even though the stock tuner in my Yaesu FT-890AT does. I wanted to run my amp (AL80A), but never got around to putting it in line, since it wouldn't tune up the twinlead fed dipole running 20 watts. No lightning strikes. No abuse. No marks or dents (like new). Includes all of the original packing, bagging and info that came with it. If it doesn't do the job for me, it is wasting space and tieing up capital. What will it tune? I don't know since I don't have any other antennas to connect it to. No, I do not think that it is defective in the least. It turns out that it is a "flattener", like most autotuners that sit in the shack and not what I would call a real tuner, like my big MFJ with the roller inductor. I'm selling it "as-is", but you will know my callsign and can slander the hell out of me if I'm lying, which I'm not. I'll take a $100 loss, but you have to pay shipping, just like I did. I bought this unit from Texas Towers. Have something to trade? I'm looking for a Yaesu FT-817, Yaesu FT-990, an Icom IC-706 MkIIG, a Mirage 10/150 watt six meter amp, and an Icom 737/737a/738. I do not want test equipment, antennas, rotators, towers, tripods, tube gear or HF gear other than what I have mentioned. I will not go below $400 plus shipping, so don't waste both our time. Thanks for reading my post. Ed Cregger, NM2K |
