SW radios for sale

Hello. I have a number of SW radios to sell. I also have a Sangean
CC radio for sale. It is in very good condition. Not sure of price
but somewhere in the $40 range is what I was thinking. Here are the
SW radios that I have:

Bearcat DX-1000
Radio Shack DX-440
Radio Shack DX-370

The Bearcat is in good condition with slight oxidation on the
handle(s) and the main tuning knob is a bit wobbly but works just
fine. $125 plus shipping. I have it listed on eham site and here is
actual picture of radio:

http://www.eham.net/data/classifieds/images/351772.jpg

The DX-440 is in great working condition and good cosmetic
condition. $70 plus postage.

I am asking $35 for the DX-370 plus postage.

The DX-1000 is a great radio. Some dip**** reviewer gave it bad marks
because he didn't like the buttons and killed it. I think Uniden still
services them for a ridiculously low flat rate.

Great radio?

Now you've gone and lost any credibility you had. The Dx-1000 was/is a
huge dog, RF wise. The buttons were just another bad part of it. The
basic receiver was pretty sad.

Got to agree with BDK. It was a dog. Right up there with the
Panasonic B300 I had about the same time.

I'm still looking to try a Magnavox D2999,

Mike

That may have been a QC issue. I bought one used, got it aligned at the
factory, and it worked great. The rotary encoder failed eventually. It
would tune down to 10 KHz, so you could listen to 19 KHz SCAs on it. I
traded it and a DX-302 for two R390A receivers (a Stewart Warner and a
Motorola).

Well, it was Uniden, circa, what, 1979 or 80, something like that?

I bought one used, got it aligned at the factory, and it worked great.

Mine went seiously deaf and went to the factory and I sold it soon after
that, as I had several other recievers that were much much better.

The rotary encoder failed eventually. It
would tune down to 10 KHz, so you could listen to 19 KHz SCAs on it. I
traded it and a DX-302 for two R390A receivers (a Stewart Warner and a
Motorola).

The 302 was another dog, but it was built a lot better than the DX-1000.
That silver painted plastic is crap, and I was sad to see my laptop had
some of it right where your hands go, so now that it's a senior citizen,
there are two patches where the silver paint is gone. I see a lot of
300's and 302's at hamfests in good shape, at least cosmetically. Mine
was modded by the original owner, and like a lot of people, he was a bit
clumsy with the soldering iron, and cooked two caps causing alternating
dead bands above 9MHZ. It took a couple of trips to the service center,
and about $60 to find it. Of course, the original owner denied doing
anything to the radio at all, even though be mentioned in a letter to
someone that he did the mod and "had problems". After that, I didn't
believe a thing he said. After it came back, I kept it for about six
months, then sold it to help pay for my Kenwood R5000, or my NRD-525,
bought about the same time. I don't know where the R5000 is, but the NRD
is going strong at age 25.

Not so sure about the 'dip****' reviewer you have mentioned . Did you
have Larry Magne or Willem Bos in mind ? Or was it Fred Osterman ?
Or,perhaps ,do you consider all of the above to be' dip****s'?
